The season is ending early for veteran Auburn WR Will Hastings.

According to a report by AL.com’s Matt Zenitz, Hastings has undergone season-ending surgery.

Though Hastings is a senior, the surgery does not mean the end of his collegiate career. Since he has only played in two games this season, the plan is for Hastings to redshirt this season and return in 2019.

Injury recovery is nothing new for Hastings. The wideout suffered an ACL injury in March. He has not played since the LSU game (Sept. 15) after suffering a setback to the knee injury in the middle of last month.

In Hasting’s absence, Auburn’s leading wideouts are Darius Slayton (13 receptions, 188 yards), Anthony Schwartz (8 receptions, 163 yards) and Ryan Davis (21 receptions, 161 yards).
