Deerfield Beach, Florida standout Phillip O’Brien Jr. has been committed to Auburn since Feb. 1, 2020, but he did not sign during the recent Early Signing Period due to the Tigers’ coaching change. O’Brien won’t get to sign until February’s National Signing Day, but he says his recruitment will be over on Christmas.

On Thursday, O’Brien tweeted that his “final decision” is coming tomorrow. O’Brien is rated 3-stars, the No. 40 safety, No. 78 recruit in Florida, and No. 532 prospect overall nationally in the 201 class on the 247Sports Composite.

During his recruitment, O’Brien collected 32 scholarship offers, including Alabama, Arkansas, Florida Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Missouri, Ole Miss, South Carolina and Tennessee.  The majority of O’Brien’s scholarship offers were extended in 2019 with his most recent scholarship offer coming from Illinois back on March 30, 2020. In 2019, five 247Sports analysts and experts logged predictions that O’Brien would eventually sign with Florida State.

We’ll find out tomorrow if O’Brien decides to stick with Auburn and play for new head coach Bryan Harsin.
