The Charlotte Knights, the Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, scheduled Cam Newton to throw out the ceremonial first pitch before Saturday’s game against the Norfolk Tides. Since Newton had should surgery on March 30, he wasn’t really in position to pitch. So he turned to the Make-A-Wish Foundation for help.

More video of Newton hanging out with his new friends can be found on The Charlotte Observer.

Newton is expected to be sidelined approximately four months from the surgery. He certainly didn’t disappoint in finding a way to help with the first pitch.
