Dabo Swinney is like most of college football — he doesn’t think Ohio State should have made the College Football Playoff. The Buckeyes finished 6-0 on the season and won the Big Ten Championship in a lackluster performance over Northwestern.

The Texas A&M Aggies, along with Cincinnati, was also vying for a Playoff spot, but both were left out in favor of the Buckeyes and Irish.

The Playoff committee even moved the Buckeyes up to No. 3 and pitted them against Clemson in the Playoff semifinal. Is Ohio State 1 of the 4 best teams? Maybe. The bigger question is do they deserve to be in the Playoff with having played just 6 games?

Swinney, who praised Notre Dame for playing a full schedule after beating the Irish in the ACC Championship, doesn’t agree with the committee’s decision.

Following the final USA Today Coaches Poll on Sunday, every coach’s final top 25 is made public. Swinney ranked Ohio State 11th. The Tigers head coach ranked Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame and Texas A&M in his top 4. The Buckeyes were outside of his top 10.

How many times will Ryan Day bring this up to his Buckeyes team ahead of the Playoff? Will it even matter?
