Rich Brooks coached in the SEC for seven seasons as the head coach of the Kentucky Wildcats, leading the Cats to bowl appearances in his final four seasons in Lexington. Brooks took over a struggling UK program, and after enduring a 9-25 record over his first three seasons, he was able to win 30 games in his final four seasons with the Wildcats.
Brooks may also be known for his 17 years as head coach at the University of Oregon from 1977-94 or for his two years as head coach of the NFL’s St. Louis Rams in 1995-96. The following reputable coaches were once assistants on Brooks’ staffs: Mike Nolan, Mike McCarthy, Joe Philbin, Mike Singletary, Norv Turner, Cam Cameron, Mike Martz, Steve Sarkisian, Chuck Pagano, Ron Rivera, Lovie Smith and Chris Peterson.
