A trio of SEC baseball teams will get an early test next season during the 2023 State Farm College Showdown at Globe Life Field. The three-day tournament at the home of the Texas Rangers is set for Feb. 17-19, 2023.

Arkansas, Missouri and Vanderbilt will represent the SEC in the tournament.

This is a deep field as 5 of the 6 teams advanced to the postseason in 2022. Arkansas is familiar with the setting, as it played in the tournament in 2021, and beat Texas Tech, Texas and TCU in one of the highest attended college baseball tournaments that year. The crowd was 17,587 for Arkansas’ 4-0 shutout win over Texas, which was tied for the largest crowd at a college baseball game during the 2021 regular season.

“We’re thrilled to be included in the field for the 2023 State Farm College Baseball Showdown at Globe Life Field,” Arkansas coach Dave Van Horn said in a release. “It’s a great season-opening event at an incredible venue right down the road from Fayetteville. We loved our experience there to begin the 2021 season, and our fans did too.”

Vanderbilt is becoming increasingly familiar with Texas.

“It goes without saying that these are privileged opportunities for our players, school and university,” Vanderbilt coach Tim Corbin said in a release. “We are grateful to the Texas Rangers and their ownership for their beautiful facilities and inclusion in this event. With Jack Leiter and Kumar Rocker’s recent addition to this organization, we hope our team can add favorably with our representation in these games.”

All games in the tournament will be streamed live by FloSports, the exclusive broadcast partner for the tournament. Tickets for the 2023 College Baseball Showdown will go on sale later this year. For more information, visit GlobeLifeField.com/Showdown.
