College basketball AP Top 25: 5 SEC teams crack poll to tip off Week 2
The first college basketball AP Top 25 poll of the regular season is here! Or at least the first after the start of game action.
A total of 5 SEC programs cracked the top 25 this week, with Mississippi State and Auburn also receiving votes.
Tennessee is the highest-ranked team in the latest poll at No. 7 after a blowout win over Tennessee Tech and an impressive road win over Wisconsin. The Vols retain some star defensive talent and added some offense in the transfer portal from Dalton Knecht and Jordan Gainey.
Texas A&M and Arkansas are not far behind at No. 13 and No. 14, respectively. The pair are both 2-0 on the year, with Texas A&M scoring a road win over a good Ohio State team.
No. 17 Kentucky survived an early scare against Texas A&M Commerce to blitz the Lions by 20. Alabama played similarly well against outmatched opponents to come in at No. 22.
