Kyle Filipowski and Duke were the victims of upset-minded Wake Forest Saturday afternoon, but the status of Filipowski has quickly become the big question mark from the game.

Looking for a chance to boost their NCAA Tournament chances, the Demon Deacons delivered a signature top-10 upset with a strong second half. Hunter Sallis led all scorers with 29 points on 5-for-6 shooting from 3-point range as Wake Forest stunned Duke 83-79.

Unsurprisingly, fans in Wake Forest flooded the court as soon as the clock struck zero, but the court-storming may have resulted in an injury for Filipowski. Broadcast cameras caught Filipowski being helped off the court by coaches, and replays showed Duke’s big man being bumped into by fans and spun around before hobbling a bit.

Filipowski led Duke with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists Saturday while shooting just 1-for-6 from 3-point range, but the concern now turns to the rest of the season. With the loss, Duke falls half a game behind UNC in the ACC standings with the Tar Heels facing Virginia.

With Filipowski, Duke will still be a trendy pick in the NCAA Tournament with a balanced roster, and fans can prepare for all the March Madness odds and live NC launch with SDS’s North Carolina sports betting links. Without Filipowski, the forecast for the Blue Devils would significantly change.
