One of the top players in the 2020 recruiting class appears to already be looking for a new school.

According to Matt Zenitz of AL.com, Clemson running back Demarkcus Bowman has entered the NCAA transfer portal. Bowman, a 5-star running back out of Lakeland (Fla.) High School, was the No. 20 recruit in the 2020 class, per the 247Sports Composite rankings, as well as the No. 3 running back.

Bowman has only been at Clemson for two games. He had six carries for 22 yards in the Tigers’ season opener against Wake Forest on Sept. 12, then had three carries for 10 yards against The Citadel on Sept. 19.

It’s worth noting that Bowman was heavily recruited by Florida, among other SEC schools. The Gators have signed some of Bowman’s former Lakeland teammates in the past two recruiting classes, including tight end Keon Zipperer, defensive end Lloyd Summerall, guard Deyavie Hammond and cornerback Fenley Graham.

And it didn’t take long for Zipperer to make an early pitch to Bowman to come join him at Florida:

Summerall weighed in as well:

Now that Bowman is entering the transfer portal, perhaps some SEC teams will again be looking to add the talented running back. But there are sure to be plenty of interested programs around the country, just as there was when he was a recruit.

One thing that may not be likely? Bowman potentially staying at Clemson. According to Chris Hummer of 247Sports, Clemson canceled Bowman’s financial aid upon him entering the portal, so this could end up being more than just him exploring his options.
