The college football coaching carousel is beginning to spin faster with each passing day.

On Sunday, it was Dan Mullen being fired at Florida, which opens up another high-profile job along with USC and LSU.

Amid rumors that the Trojans might be targeting Brian Kelly, the Notre Dame coach was asked Monday if he would ever leave South Bend.

Kelly offered an amusing response.

“No,” Kelly said. “I mean, look, I think Mike Tomlin had the best line, right? Unless that fairy godmother comes by with that $250M check, my wife would want to take a look at it first. I’d have to run it by her.”

Kelly went on to add that his name being mentioned in connection with any other job is likely just a “smokescreen” to keep reporters off the trail of viable candidates.

Notre Dame, which is 10-1 on the season after beating Georgia Tech on Saturday, wraps up its regular season at Stanford on Saturday night.
