College GameDay has made a number of curious destination choices this season, a trend that continued Sunday when the popular ESPN show announced it would be heading to Cincinnati for the Bearcats’ home game with Tulsa next Saturday.
It’s understandable that ESPN would want to spotlight Cincinnati, which is looking at an undefeated season and a potential spot in the College Football Playoff.
But with Tulsa sitting at 3-5 on the season, the decision left many scratching their heads, including fans at Texas A&M and Auburn.
The Aggies and Tigers will meet in College Station on Saturday in a matchup of 2 of the hottest teams in the SEC, both of which are likely to be ranked in the top-15 this week.
Here’s a look at some of the social media reaction to GameDay’s Week 10 destination:
College GameDay is going to Cincinnati for the game vs Tulsa who has a losing record (3-5) this season instead of a top-15 match up between Auburn and Texas A&M in College Station?
Massive error. https://t.co/rC2aR083gX

Gameday just had to hype up another overrated Cincinnati beating a 3-5 Tulsa team over a top 13 matchup between A&M and Auburn. The hate for A&M is just obvious at this point 😂

There is a reason GameDay is on the decline and losing viewership and participation. Cincy facing a team with a losing record? Simply a joke! Bring on @LauraRutledge, @MartySmithESPN, @ESPNMcGee and the rest of the @SECNetwork crew!

Who decided this? Tulsa has 5 losses already. Not exciting.

Meanwhile Top 15 A&M vs Top 15 Auburn. Could be #11 vs #12
Anyway, typical weakness from ESPN. The whole Disney thing didn’t make sense initially but yall are all everyone gets a trophy, peewee league

Horrible selection. You had Auburn at A&M and you chose 3-5 Tulsa at Cincinnati. Pathetic
