How great was it to have college football back on our TVs this past Saturday? Sure, it was only a handful of games, and most of them weren’t competitive. But it was a clear sign that fall is right around the corner.

Now, it’s time for things to really get started.

There’s a ton of college football on the schedule for Thursday, Friday, Saturday and even Sunday and Monday. Most teams will be opening the season at some point during this 5-day stretch, including all 14 SEC schools.

At this point, it’s unlikely you need any more help getting excited about the return of college football. But just in case you need a reminder of how great this time of year is, ESPN released a hype video on Wednesday that takes care of that:

The first SEC team to be in action will be Tennessee, which opens its season with a home matchup against Bowling Green on Thursday night. Then, 12 SEC teams will play Saturday, followed by Ole Miss taking on Louisville in Atlanta on Monday night.

Among the most highly anticipated matchups for opening weekend are No. 1 Alabama vs. No. 14 Miami and No. 3 Clemson vs. No. 5 Georgia. These should be exciting games, and the latter should definitely live up to the hype, considering it’s a pair of top-5 teams going at it.

So get ready to sit back, relax and enjoy a long weekend of college football. Because things are about to get going in a big way.
