ESPN updated its College Football Playoff projection with Week 11 now in the books, and there’s been some serious shakeup since the previous release. That has everything to do with a lot of unexpected results the came through on Saturday.
Among the most notable of those was when Ole Miss stormed the field after defeating Georgia, 28-10 in Oxford. It’s clear the Rebels have taken what they needed to from the adversity they faced early on in the season, and it is equally unclear what the path looks like for the Bulldogs moving forward, formerly considered to be the best team in college football.
LSU also lost out on any realistic path to the CFP after the Tigers were downed, 42-13 in Tiger Stadium in a game that has a lot of people questioning just how safe Brian Kelly’s job truly is moving into 2025. Miami was also among the teams that was upset, losing to Georgia Tech in a shocker, 28-23 in Bobby Dodd Stadium.
Here’s a look at the latest CFP projections from ESPN, which include four teams from the SEC:
- Oregon
- Ohio State
- Texas
- Penn State
- Tennessee
- Indiana
- BYU
- Notre Dame
- Alabama
- Georgia
- Miami
- Boise State
How these rankings continue to evolve in the final games of the season will be something to keep an eye on.
