Some strong allegations have recently been out thrown at Penn State coach James Franklin as a former team doctor isn’t pleased following his removal from the program’s medical staff.

In a recently filed lawsuit, former Penn State doctor Dr. Scott A. Lynch is claiming that Franklin repeatedly pressured him to clear injured players to return to the field. Dr. Lynch claims that after bringing this information to the attention of Penn State officials, he was removed as a team doctor from the football team and the university altogether.

This news was first reported by Matt Miller of PennLive.com.

Lynch had been a team doctor on the Penn State staff dating back to 2013 before being removed from that position in March. In his lawsuit, Lynch is asking for $50,000 in damages from Penn State, citing the school’s failure to protect him as a whistleblower.

It should be noted that in his lawsuit, Lynch has not provided any specific examples of Franklin influencing a player’s medical care.
