Nebraska announces extension for Scott Frost amid 4-5 season
The Nebraska Cornhuskers enter Saturday’s game against Wisconsin with a disappointing record of 4-5.
After entering the season ranked in the top 25, this isn’t the year many fans were hoping for. Now, the Huskers must win 2 of their final 3 games just to make a bowl game.
With Wisconsin this weekend and games remaining against Maryland and Iowa, the path to a bowl won’t be an easy one.
However, on Saturday, Nebraska announced that it had signed coach Scott Frost to a two-year extension, per a release from the school.
Chancellor Ronnie Green and AD Bill Moos issued a joint statement praising the work Frost has done:
“Scott is the right coach at the right time for this program. We are excited for the heights to which he will take Nebraska football and the tremendous impact he will have in the development of our student athletes.”
This extends Frost’s contract through the 2026 season. However, if he doesn’t start getting to bowl games soon, he likely won’t see the end of that deal.
It’ll be an important couple of years in Lincoln moving forward.
