Utah football players received a massive surprise Wednesday with a new team-wide NIL deal.

Utah’s Crimson Collective surprised the team with the news that every player on scholarship will receive a new 2024 Dodge Ram on lease in the NIL deal. That comes out to 85 trucks for every scholarship player on the Utes’ roster.

Ross Dellenger with Yahoo! Sports notes the leases are for 6 months and will be voided if the player transfers or their eligibility expires. The deal is regarded as one of the most lucrative in the early history of NIL with a value approaching $6 million for the cost of the trucks.

Head coach Kyle Whittingham noted such a move is a big deal in regard to the national attention it brings to the Utes. He also expects the move to be a plus in recruiting for the program.
