Arkansas Football History

Arkansas started playing football back in 1894. Over the long and storied history of the Razorbacks’ program, Arkansas has won 1 national title (in 1964). The Hogs have won 13 conference titles over the years, but never in the SEC. All 13 conference titles came during the SWC days.
Arkansas joined the Southeastern Conference in 1992 and has been in the league ever since. The Razorbacks have never won the SEC title, but they did win the SEC West 4 times — in 1995, 1998, 2002 and 2006. But they’re 0-3 in the SEC Championship Game.
The Razorbacks have had some big-name coaches over the years, including Frank Broyles, Lou Holtz, Bobby Petrino and others. They’ve never produced a Heisman winner (though many believe RB Darren McFadden should have won at least one time after he finished in the runner-up spot in 2006 and 2007).
