After a rough start to National Signing Day missing on multiple targets, Florida finishes the day with some good news. Manor (Texas) 4-star DE Princely Umanmielen committed to the Gators over fellow finalists Auburn, Baylor and Texas. He announced his commitment live on ESPNU.

Umanmielen committed to the hometown Longhorns on Aug. 12, 2019, but the pledge did not last long. He decommitted from UT on Oct. 23, 2019. Umanmielen went through December’s Early Signing Period unsigned, continuing his recruitment into February’s NSD. On the weekend of Jan. 24, Umanmielen took an official visit to Florida. Last week, he made the trip to visit Texas on Thursday and also squeezed in a visit to Baylor, tweeting out his final four from Waco, Texas on Saturday night.

Umanmielen is listed at 6-4, 249 pounds and rated 4-stars, the No. 9 strong-side defensive end, No. 38 Texas product and No. 241 prospect overall nationally. He picked up 28 scholarship offers during his recruitment.

For Florida, Umanmielen is pledge No. 25 (excluding transfers) in its 2020 class. Ten members of the class have already enrolled while two verbal commitments are unsigned.

Dan Mullen was quick in welcoming Umanmielen to UF.
