The Florida Gators have some work ahead of them after losing, 26-16, to No. 20 Kentucky in Week 2.

It wasn’t a devastating loss, Florida is still ranked No. 18, after all (falling six points), Billy Napier’s team needs to get back on the winning track in Week 3 against South Florida. That’s especially true with No. 15 Tennessee on the horizon.

The bad news for the Gators is not only are they coming off a loss, but they’ll be down a few players.

Napier revealed on Wednesday that starting linebacker Ventrell Miller and starting right tackle Michael Tarquin will both miss the USF game.

Backup quarterback Jack Miller III is recovering from preseason thumb surgury, but he’s still not ready to come back and he’s considered week-to-week.

Redshirt freshman Scooby Williams will step in at linebacker in replacement of Miller for the Gators, while Redshirt freshman Austin Barber will play right tackle, per Florida’s Week 3 depth chart.
