Billy Napier delivers impressive performance in Swamp debut at Florida
Billy Napier saw his debut in The Swamp quickly become a memorable one.
After Napier drained the clock late ahead of a fourth down call in the fourth quarter, several fans and media questioned the call. But that quickly ended after Anthony Richardson delivered the latest strong play in an impressive night with a touchdown that put the Gators up by 3 points.
But it all turned out orange and blue thanks to a late interception to seal the win for the Gators.
Here’s a sample of the reaction from fans and media:
We’re all playing checkers. Billy Napier is playing chess.

That was a ballsy move by Billy Napier to play the clock game and take it down before calling the timeout ahead of the 4th down. But, I respect it a ton. He has Anthony Richardson, and Utah doesn’t. The QB has been absolutely tremendous in closing time.

Can anyone explain to me wtf Billy Napier was doing right there running 30 seconds off the clock down 4?

Billy Napier pulling off a W1 upset of a top-10 team at home in his first game as the coach of UF would be really cool. I know ULL misses him ?

Anthony Richardson. That’s the tweet. In fact, it’s most of our tweets tonight. That’s how good the #Gators QB has been.
Florida on the verge of an important win to open the Billy Napier era…
