Billy Napier’s Florida tenure started off on a strong note last year, beating a ranked Utah in The Swamp. Napier discussed how the team is preparing to play the Utes in Salt Lake City this time around at Friday’s presser.

Napier stressed how important it is that Florida is locked in for the matchup. It won’t be an easy environment for the Gators.

“We’ve got to really zero in here playing on the road in a tough competitive environment,” said Napier. “Our attitude, our mindset. We’ve got a lot of momentum and have been working a long time since January. We’ve got to get the details right at the end.”

There was another question Napier was asked in regard to the game. The altitude of Salt Lake City is 4,265 feet. Napier stated that his staff has spent plenty of time researching the altitude and preparing the team.

“You know the altitude; we’ve spent extensive time researching that relative to our sports science and training staff. All indications tell us to stay in your normal routine. It really takes 10 days to get adjusted, get in and get out. We’ve met with a lot of NFL teams regarding that, so we feel good about our plan.”

Florida squares off against No. 14 Utah on Aug. 31. Kickoff will be at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN.
