Updated: Former Florida DT Caleb Brantley involved in altercation with female, female struck first

According to WTSP.com’s Ryan Bass, Brantley was involved in a physical altercation/fight with a female in Gainesville Wednesday night outside of the Copper Monkey. The altercation spilled out into the roadway, per the report.

The female victim never came forward, and charges were never filed. The updated report states that the woman struck Brantley first, and he then pushed the woman away.

Brantley is figured to be a top prospect in this year’s NFL Draft, largely projected to be a second-round pick. He had a nice career for Florida, and he developed into a difference-maker for the Gators after redshirting his freshman year. He recorded 80 tackles, including 20.5 tackles for loss, and 5.5 sacks during his career.

Once the original report was updated with the information that the female struck Brantley first, he responded on Twitter.
