Caleb Odom is an elite prospect and a key tight end recruit in the 2024 recruiting class. He’s in Gainesville this weekend for an official visit with Billy Napier’s Florida program, but at least one portion of that visit did not quite go as planned.

During the photo shoot portion of the visit, Odom tried to recruit Michael Jordan’s iconic “jumpman” shot which is the legendary logo for Jordan Brand. Odom hit the pose just right, but the landing was not quite as graceful.

The TE hit the deck in an almost split as his feet slid out from under him. Fortunately, Odom played off the incident on social media, captioning the video with “Jumpman not for me.”

Caleb Odom’s recruitment

While Odom’s photo shoot was less than optimal, his recruitment is taking shape with a heavy SEC lean to this point. His top 7 list from May included Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss and the Gators with some other Power 5 heavy hitters included.

As a prospect, Odom is rated as a 4-star TE and the No. 6 TE in the country per the 247 Sports Composite. He’s listed at 6-foot-5 and 215 pounds and is also rated the 85th player in the country for the class of 2024.

We’ll see if Odom winds up in the SEC when his recruitment reaches a decision date.
