College basketball insider Jeff Goodman calls Florida the ‘most disappointing’ team this season

The Florida Gators had some high expectations coming into the 2019-20 season, but it has been a roller coaster of ups and downs.
The Gators just ended the regular season with a disappointing last-second loss to Kentucky. Now, instead of being the No. 2 seed in the SEC Tournament, they’ll be the No. 5 seed and not get a double-bye.
That prompted college basketball insider Jeff Goodman to proclaim that the Gators are the most disappointing team this season:
For my money (and I know UNC has been awful), Florida has been the most disappointing team thus far this season. I just expected so much more from the Gators.
But no one will care if they can somehow make a run in the NCAA tourney.

He acknowledges it has been a rough year for North Carolina, too, but since the Gators had Final Four expectations heading into the season, it’s tough to argue with his choice.
However, as he mentions, it can all go away with a deep postseason run.
