Dan Mullen had some bold words in the ESPN studio regarding the upcoming Florida-Georgia matchup.

During halftime of the South Carolina-Texas A&M game with Matt Barrie and Joey Galloway, Mullen explained why he’s picked the Gators to win Saturday in Jacksonville, and why Georgia is not in his College Football Playoff top 4 entering the first rankings reveal on Tuesday.

Mullen has consistently kept Georgia out of the top 4, as he did after Week 7.

Dan Mullen: I think anybody can win this game because of the rivalry part of it coming in. The stadium’s split right down the middle. It’s an amazing atmosphere.

Joey Galloway: Are you saying Florida can win this game?

Dan Mullen: Florida absolutely can win, I think Florida does win.

Joey Galloway: Excuse me?

Dan Mullen: Florida does win.

Joey Galloway: This will be interesting for Tuesday, you mentioned the (Playoff) rankings coming out. Because the committee has to want to see what Georgia looks like without Brock Bowers.

Dan Mullen: I already think they’re not (in the top 4). Somebody else is going to have to lose. I think they’re not in.
Mullen believes that the Bulldogs will not be ranked as one of the top four teams in the nation when the College Football Playoff rankings are revealed at 7 ET on Tuesday.

Former Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray had an interesting response to Mullen’s take as well.
