The Florida Gators still have one more year of K Eddy Pineiro before he goes off to the NFL, but when he leaves, they’ll be in a good position at the kicker spot once again.

That’s because new Florida coach Dan Mullen managed to flip No. 2 2018 K Evan McPherson’s commitment from Mississippi State to Florida on Sunday.

McPherson announced his decision to follow Mullen to Gainesville on his Twitter page, thanking Mississippi State in the process:

According to the 247Sports composite, McPherson, a 3-star Alabama native, is the No. 2 kicker in the class of 2018 and the No. 44 overall recruit from the state of Alabama.

With McPherson’s commitment, the Gators now have 13 players in their 2018 recruiting class, which currently ranks No. 7 in the SEC and No. 20 in the nation, per 247Sports.

New Arkansas coach Chad Morris has already flipped two commits from SMU to the Razorbacks, so it’ll be interesting to see how many more players decide to follow Mullen from Starkville to Gainesville.
