The uncertain future of Dan Mullen’s Florida football coaching tenure has all of Gator Nation talking. On Friday, Steve Spurrier volunteered his take on Mullen’s future with the program.

Spurrier joined Terry Norvelle on “College Sports Today” Friday. While discussing the upcoming Florida-Mizzou game, the Head Ball Coach brought up the uncertainty surrounding Mullen’s future with the Gators at 5-5 on the season.

“Nobody knows exactly what our coaching situation is right now,” Spurrier said. “Nobody’s talking about it. I think it depends a lot on what happens the next two games.”

Florida’s next two games are at Mizzou on Saturday and against Florida State at home in the regular-season finale. Under Mullen, the Gators are 2-1 against MU and 2-0 against FSU.

Florida fans are always interested in hearing the HBC’s thoughts on anything to do with Gator football. Spurrier, of course, is more than just a former coach. After retiring at South Carolina, Spurrier returned to UF, taking on an ambassador role with Florida athletics. Like many University Athletic Association employees,  Spurrier has an office in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
