If you haven’t heard the news, several Florida players are said to have been involved in a recent on-campus “situation” in which police were called and weapons described as assault rifles were spotted in their possession.

Tight end C’yontai Lewis, receiver Tyrie Cleveland and quarterback Emory Jones are all reportedly involved in the incident.

No charges were filed following this incident, which took place back on May 28, and the weapons were discovered to have been nothing more than air guns. You can read about the full details of the story here.

With that incident becoming public, Dan Mullen has issued the following statement on Thursday:

“We were made aware of the incident when it occurred and immediately began following campus protocol. This has been an opportunity for us to educate our players about the dangers and negative perceptions that can occur when conflict arises, and how important honesty and good decision making is.”

This appears to be much ado about nothing as no players have been suspended at this time, although Florida will not publicly comment on the status of any ongoing code of conduct reviews per school policy.
