Dan Mullen reaches out to former Gators to extend invites to Florida's upcoming spring game
In recent history, few SEC programs can match the success of Florida. While the previous couple of coaches failed to live up to the Gator standard set by Steve Spurrier and Urban Meyer, Dan Mullen is doing everything he can to remind people what that standard should be in Gainesville.
His latest attempt to do that involves inviting back former players and their families to attend Florida’s upcoming spring game. After moving the game from Friday night, which former coach Jim McElwain supported, Mullen is hoping to create buzz again for the Gator program this spring in Gainesville by bringing back players that know how to win in a Gator uniform.
News of Mullen’s invitations comes from Robbie Andreu of the Gainesville Sun.
Considering he played a massive role in the accomplishments achieved by Meyer at the school, it may be tough for many of Florida’s former players to say no to Mullen and what he is attempting to accomplish during his first spring back in Gainesville.
Florida’s spring game is scheduled for Saturday, April, 14 at 3 p.m. The game will be televised by the SEC Network.
Dan Mullen has sent a message out inviting former players and their families back for the spring game. There will be a cookout, then the former players will take part in the Gator Walk with the team.
