The Florida Gators brought out a gator-skin uniform last year that drew criticism from media and fans alike.
However, the players and potential recruits loved those uniforms, so the Gators may continue to experiment this year and beyond. After all, it’s players, not media and fans, that win games.
During an appearance on Tuesday night, Florida coach Dan Mullen said that the Gators might bring out a black jersey combination at some point in 2018:
Fan: “Are we going to wear white pants, blue jerseys, and orange helmets at home? Please. Those green things are terrible.”
“Want to know what every recruit said they’re favorite uniform was? The green ones. We will have a black Jersey combination at some point.”

Will the jerseys actually make their debut in 2018? That’s uncertain at this point, but the Gators are willing to experiment.
Their orange and blue uniforms are iconic, but since players and recruits liked the gator-skin combo last year, big changes could be coming.
