DJ Lagway is a 5-star quarterback in the 2024 recruiting class out of Willis, Texas.

Florida is a program that desperately needs some good news at the QB position and had Lagway at the top of its 2024 recruiting board according to some reports.

On Wednesday, Billy Napier got his guy, as Lagway announced during a commitment ceremony live on ESPN’s “CFB Live” that he was indeed committing to Florida.

Lagway chose the Gators over schools like USC, Oklahoma, Baylor, Texas A&M and many others.

Per the 247Sports composite rankings, Lagway is the No. 24 prospect nationally, the No. 4 quarterback in the 2024 class and the No. 4 overall recruit from the state of Texas.

The Gators now have 3 players in their 2024 recruiting class. Prior to Lagway’s commitment, that class ranked No. 14 in the nation, per 247Sports.
