Florida is having a productive Father’s Day on the recruiting trail.
Hours after landing a commitment from 4-star Alabama LB Shemar James, the Gators picked up a second Sunday commitment from in-state wide receiver Chandler Smith coming off a visit to UF campus.
From Orlando, Smith is listed at 6-3, 180 on his 247Sports recruiting profile, which shows 27 scholarship offers. The Bishop Moore Catholic product is rated 3-stars, the No. 49 Florida recruit, No. 53 wide receiver and No. 364 prospect overall nationally in the class of 2022 on the 247Sports Composite. His profile shows track times of 10.28-second in the 100 meters and 21.40-second 200 meters from 2020.
Smith’s listed scholarship offers include Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia, Kentucky, Ole Miss, South Carolina and Tennessee. He visited the Razorbacks and Gamecocks this month. In May, he named an all-SEC top five of Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Ole Miss and South Carolina.
