Former Florida S Matt Elam has received some good news on the legal front.

ESPN.com reported that drug charges against Elam in Miami-Dade County (Fla.) have all been dropped according to the county’s online records. The former Gator was arrested after a Feb. 26 traffic stop and had been charged with one count of cannabis possession, one count of possession of cannabis with intent to sell or deliver, and one count of possession of a controlled substance. Last week, it was reported that grand theft and domestic battery charges against Elam from a May incident were also dropped.

While Elam’s legal troubles appear to be behind him, that does not necessarily mean the former Gator will be on an NFL roster this fall. The Baltimore Ravens did not pick up an option on Elam’s contract and let him become a free agent. Elam played in only nine games for Baltimore last season, after appearing in all 32 games in the 2013 and ’14 seasons. He missed the 2015 season due to a biceps injury.
