The Florida defense had a number of key players return for the 2021 season. Now, they’re participating in spring practices to get ready.

One of those key players is DL Zachary Carter, who has been a big part of the Gators’ pass rush the past few years.

So, why did he decide to come back to school? After Thursday’s spring practice debut, Carter said he wanted to get his degree and leave a legacy in Gainesville:

In 2020, Carter recorded 35 tackles (9 for a loss) and 5 sacks. He also had 2 pass breakups and also recovered a fumble for a touchdown.

How will he fare in 2021? We’ll get a good look at how he fits into the Gators’ defense this spring!
