On Tuesday morning, the Gators earned a commitment from 4-star quarterback Austin Simmons. He chose Florida over offers from program like Miami and Texas A&M, amongst others.

Here’s his announcement:

Simmons is heralded as one of the top quarterback prospects in the country. He’s currently ranked as the No. 56 overall player and the No. 6 passer in the country for the class of 2025, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

Simmons is also a Florida native. He attends Pahokee High School in Pahokee, Florida. He’s listed at 6-foot-3, 180 pounds.

The lefty is also expected to play baseball for the Gators. He received an offer from Billy Napier and Florida back on March 9. Then, on March 28, he was offered by UF’s baseball program. Exactly 1 week later, he committed to Florida.

Simmons is Florida’s 1st commitment in the class of 2025.
