Florida lands commitment from highly-touted pass rusher, former Georgia commit
Florida added a big piece to its 2025 recruiting class on Monday afternoon.
The Gators earned a commitment from 3-star defensive lineman Stephon Shivers. A Tennessee native, Shivers was previously committed to Georgia before backing off of that pledge earlier this month.

Shivers is a nice pickup for the Gators in the class of 2025. He’s the No. 489 overall player and the No. 52 defensive lineman in the country for this cycle, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 16 player from the state of Tennessee.
Shivers attends Brentwood Academy in Brentwood, Tennessee. He’s listed at 6-foot-5, 365 pounds.
He was committed to Georgia from March of this year until Nov. 8. His other offers include programs such as Texas, Oregon, Tennessee, Auburn and plenty more.
Florida is now up to 14 commitments in the class of 2025. The group sits at No. 31 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings. Florida is expected to be very active on the recruiting trail to close out this cycle, particularly in the transfer portal.
Here are some highlights from his high school career:

(I can post puussy and all kinds of 1-letter deviations on a host of vulgarities but s-c-r-a-p-s get blocked, go figure)
Ever notice that the British moderation goons are more sensitive after they’ve been to the dentist?
The British go to dentists?
Apparently there are only half a dozen or so in the entire country, so it must be a long wait.
For a minute I thought you were going to admit that you post all kinds of obnoxious, juvenile, narcissistic and stupid drivel and non sense but of course not, bet in that puny brain you believe you post clever and intelligent stuff
For a moment, until I put on my reading glasses, I thought you were talking about me – and had already started typing in my defense that’s why my preferred personal pronouns are Ick/Yuck.
Obviously I’ve traumatized and scared you emotionally, deeply so. Most likely PTSD to some degree. Hopefully over time it will work itself out, you’ll be able to pick up the pieces and move forward in life. At all cost avoid addictive substances and seek relationships with people who are well rounded, self-aware, engage in healthy activities, possess average or better emotional IQ and have a positive effect on you. If you haven’t done so already then please quit frequenting and hanging out at the truck stops. Even when you really need to fuel up and you get that twitch, don’t go to a truck stop, just break those chains.
I’d say don’t take it personally but I know the scars and memories are very personal for you, but it really wasn’t personal. You were just in the wrong place at the wrong time and doing something you shouldn’t have been doing. Going forward the healthiest thing you could do is just stay away from the UGA articles and threads. Again, when that twitch hits and you are jones’ing to post “1980, err 2023”, “kirby dumbs err King Kirby”, “Georgia is where 5-stars go to make the NFL”, “44-55”, “20-34 chumps” etc just don’t do it.
It really is as simple as if you don’t grab the bull you won’t get the horns.
Good luck cojones
The problem with that sentiment isn’t your angst with Cojo giving as good as he takes, but the undeniable fact that if nothing else CFB is cyclic. I have no issue with Georgia being on top right now except for once a year, and in fact pull for you guys with everybody else except Florida. Accordingly, enjoy it while you can and don’t start whining on Gator pages when inevitably you can’t.
Considering how many Georgia fans comment on articles about the Gators I think the trauma and scarring (and scaring as well ;)) is coming from you, Tdow. Also, not just the Gators, but truckers as well. Hmmm
The LSU game helped recruits get excited about the Gators, there should be more commitments in the next few weeks.
#31 on 247 team rankings – ways to go for Billy – needs some 5 stars, high 4 stars if he wants to be respectable and land in the 10-15 range, which ain’t great even then.
We and the media are responsible for where the Gator recruiting class ranks this year. Since that ugly opening day loss to Miami, the noise about firing Napier has been deafening and the commitments stopped. It only relented when Stricklin saved him for another year.
Napier is honest with his recruits and probably told them he couldn’t guarantee being around to coach them next year until the AD guaranteed his return. So, recruits stopped committing until that news broke out. By then, most of the blue chippers had committed elsewhere.
Make no mistake Les, I still want Napier fired this year, but since that’s not happening, it’s GO GATORS… in all kinds of weather!
Put it in perspective and Napier is the one responsible for all this mess, we and the media are not calling for a sweep on third and half an inch among many other asinine calls so now that he has the AD’s vote of confidence for next year it’s up to him to work overtime and get the recruiting back on track and winning the next 2 games and a bowl will help a lot in that regard
Emilio, IMO the modern media is more responsible than any other source of criticism, except for Napier himself, by way of its largely unbalanced quest to create drama without proper context. In other words, a text without context is simply a pretext for making it say anything one wants it to say – regardless of situational facts bearing on a problem – and the modern sports media are truly masters of that craft.
As far as Gator fans, my observation is that we, with a few notable exceptions, have been very rational and balanced in our comments on social media platforms versus private communications.
BTW, I think your middle paragraph exactly and perfectly explains the current situation.
This young man from Tennessee will depth right away to a D that is getting better every game. Depth has been the issue since the Gators turn on D and we are definitely starting to make the turn elsewhere as well. Coach Napier is a very methodical team builder and it’s staying to show success.
Hey humperino is this guy a baby Dez?
There is only one Big Dez. That is one scary looking human!
No there are several problems with that sentiment but let’s just say that it seems he’s the one with PTSD and is here posting sheet as payback for perceived grievances of old. Heck once I called him out for being his usal A hole self and he responded that he was paying us back for the things Mullen said when he was hired as our HC. Talk about crazy sheet.
In reality he is what he is, an obnoxious narcissistic Moron
Talk about context and I pulled another docgator here. This is my response to doc regarding his response to the Moron DumbsOfWar
