In 2018, Todd Grantham arrived at Florida and installed an aggressive defense that gets after opposing quarterbacks. To kick off the 2019 season, that UF defense notched 10 sacks, a first for an SEC defense in over 10 years, against Miami.

With a strong front seven, the Gators could be turning in more double-digit sack performances in 2019. LB David Reese is one of the leaders of the Florida defense. Speaking with reporters Wednesday, Reese was asked if he’s ever felt sorry for an opposing quarterback. Reese gave a candid answer that adds insult to the injury for one rival.

“Only quarterback I’ve ever felt sorry for was maybe last year against Tennessee because he looked like he had enough,” Reese told reporters.

In a 47-21 win over Tennessee, Florida recorded two QB hurries and a sack. Volunteers QB Jarrett Guarantano was 7-of-18 passing for 164 yards and two interceptions. Reese had 11 tackles in the game.
