Florida players, prospects react to sudden firing of Sean Spencer, Corey Raymond

The Florida Gators made a couple of personnel moves after a disappointing 5-7 season. Defensive line coach Sean Spencer and secondary coach Corey Raymond have both been relieved of their duties.

Shortly after the news broke, social media was flooded with comments from current Gators and recruits.

Devin Moore, Ja’Keem Jackson, and Desmond Watson were among those who voiced their displeasure with the staff changes. Top prospects TJ Abrams, Xavier Filsaime, and Josiah Davis were among the members of the 2023 recruiting class to do the same.

The Florida defense struggled in 2023, finishing with the No. 71 total defense in the nation. The team also broke a school record for yards allowed, letting the LSU Tigers rack up over 700 total yards of offense.
