Florida football got some much-needed good news on Wednesday with a commitment from Class of 2024 fringe 3/4-star safety Gregory Smith.
Smith made his Early Signing Day commitment to the Gators over the likes of Ole Miss, Virginia and Vanderbilt. Smith also had offers from Florida State, Texas A&M, Nebraska and Mississippi State, to name a few.

Smith is considered to be the No. 546 overall prospect in the country, as well as the No. 35 ATH and No. 69 player out of Florida. He’s one of 2 safeties currently signed to Florida in the Class of 2024, joining 3-star S Josiah Davis.
The Gators have not seen a lot of good news Wednesday. Florida has lost a pair of 4-star commitments from Amaris Williams and Adarius Hayes.
But perhaps even more notably, 5-star DL commit LJ McCray has moved back his signing date and 5-star QB DJ Lagway has yet to sign with USC reportedly making a late push.
