Florida football has lost another commitment on national signing day.
Moments after losing 4-star LB Adarius Hayes to Miami and hearing the announcement that LJ McCray will not sign his NLI on Wednesday as previously planned, the Gators lost 4-star DL Amaris Williams to Auburn.
Williams stands at 6-3, 265 pounds and originally hails from North Carolina. He had been committed to Florida since June of 2023 and is considered to be the No. 79 overall prospect in the country, as well as the No. 12 DL and No. 1 prospect out of North Carolina.

Xavier Filsaime, another 5-star commit for the Gators, flipped his commitment to Texas a few days ago. Outside Williams and Hayes, Billy Napier has lost four 4-star prospects in the past few months alone.
As for Auburn things are going well. Hugh Freeze and the Tigers now have the No. 8 recruiting class in the country. Williams is Auburn’s 5th highest-rated pledge of the cycle.
