Kamari Wilson was missing in action from Florida’s Week 4 contest against Charlotte. The second-year defensive back’s status is unclear.

According to multiple reporters in The Swamp, Wilson was not seen with the Gators during warmups. Graham Hall of 247Sports observed Wilson on the sideline in the 2nd quarter, but the sophomore defender was escorted back to the locker room.

The final question of Billy Napier’s postgame press conference was about Wilson.

“Yeah, Kamari Wilson didn’t make the travel roster this week, so we can take 80 to the hotel, and Kamari wasn’t on that list,” Napier told reporters. “Yeah, it’s pretty simple.”

With no mention of suspension or injury, Wilson not being part of the team for a home game leads to more questions that are sure to be asked on Monday. A highly-touted Class of 2022 prospect, Wilson has played in 16 games for the Gators.

Coming out of the IMG Academy, Wilson was rated 4-stars, the No. 3 safety and No. 44 prospect overall nationally on the 247Sports Composite. Shortly after Napier’s hiring, Florida surged in Wilson’s recruitment, getting him on campus for a December official visit and landing him in the Early Signing Period.

As a freshman, Wilson played in 13 games, recording 39 tackles, 1.5 TFL, 1 pass breakup and 1 forced fumble. This season, Wilson played in Florida’s first 3 games. His only recorded statistic is a tackle in the Week 2 game against McNeese. Wilson was not listed on Florida’s 2-deep depth chart for Week 4.
