Report: Florida has contacted Willie Taggart about head coaching job
As the Florida Gators start their search for a new head coach, many different candidates will surely be interviewed.
Among those top candidates likely to get a call are Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen, UCF coach Scott Frost and Oregon coach Willie Taggart.
According to sports agent Darren Heitner, who has been breaking information throughout the hectic past 48 hours for the Gators, the school has already reportedly contacted Taggart or his representatives:
Willie Taggart now a real possibility for Gators. He’s been contacted; boosters actively discussing (Reporting w/@sportsDen_live)

As mentioned earlier, Taggart is in his first year at Oregon after leaving USF, but his relatively low buyout of between $3 million and $5 million makes him an enticing option.
Obviously, it’s still early in the search, so even if Taggart has been contacted, it may be a while before anything is made official.
After parting ways with McElwain on Sunday, the Gators need to make sure they get their next hire right, so they may be best served to take their time.
