Former Florida LB Antonio Morrison was the subject of alarming reports on social media last weekend about a “well-fare check” that involved a standoff-like situation with Carmel, Indiana, law enforcement. New reports are now detailing the former Gator’s recent troubles.

WISH TV reports that Morrison is currently in Marion County Jail on charges of battery on a public official. WISH reports it obtained documents showing that the Carmel Police Department brought Morrison to Community Hospital Behavioral Health Pavilion on the morning of May 11. His stay was brief:

While still there on May 14, Morrison allegedly threatened to strike workers with a chair before punching one worker. Another worker used a stun gun to subdue Morrison.

Per WISH, court documents state that multiple neighbors have been having issues with Morrison:

On April 22, Carmel police received a call from a neighbor claiming Morrison was making threatening actions and lewd comments such as “I am going to screw your wife.” The next day, the neighbor said Morrison came to his door and said he was going to kill him. Court documents state a Ring doorbell camera recorded the threat.

On May 1, another neighbor said Morrison told him to “get inside your condo b****,” intimidated him and yelled at his daughter. The neighbor did not want to have Morrison prosecuted and told police he believes Morrison is paranoid.

Another neighbor told officers that Morrison challenged him to a gun fight.

The documents also shed light on this past weekend’s incident:

On May 10, the Carmel Fire Department responded to a fire and were met with an armed person. Court documents released to News 8 Friday reveal that person was Morrison. Carmel police and fire were on the scene for six hours trying to negotiate with him.

No charges were filed at the time.

The report states that documents to seize Morrison’s firearms were filed on May 13, noting Morrison “presents an imminent risk of personal injury to self or to another individual” and he is “subject to documented evidence that would give rise to a reasonable believe (sic) that the individual has a propensity for violent or emotionally unstable conduct.”

Morrison’s agent reportedly told authorities that the former Florida standout has “confirmed mental issues, bi-polar and manic and has several recent arrests in the last year involving gun, assault and paraphernalia charges.”

Antonio’s father Anthony Morrison told Carmel police that he “believes his son suffered a concussion three years ago and that football is the cause of his son’s recent problems.” After his Florida career, Morrison was drafted by the Colts in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He led the team in tackles in 2017. He was traded to the Green Bay Packers after two seasons with the Colts. The Packers waived Morrison after the 2018 season.

A court document indicates that the NFL was aware of Morrison’s off-field problems:

Court documents also quote a Carmel Police Department sergeant who said “the National Football League had paid to remove Antonio’s girlfriend and two children from Antonio’s home about three years ago and relocate them to Florida due to violent behavior displayed by Antonio.”

WISH notes that there is a felony warrant for Morrison in another county on an intimidation charge.
