Most of the college football world has made it through Week 1 action. Sunday will see No. 24 Louisville take on No. 9 Ole Miss in Nashville. And on Monday, SMU and Florida State do battle in the ACC.
But the rest of the teams have made it through Week 1, and what a week it was! We had blowouts, upsets, narrow escapes and more. And that has caused some changes to ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI).
The top 5 teams remain the same, but beyond that, there were some shakeups in the order of teams. Here’s a look at the top 25 teams in the updated rankings:
- Ohio State
- Texas
- Notre Dame
- Oregon
- Georgia
- Miami
- Indiana
- Alabama
- LSU
- Texas Tech
- Texas A&M
- Oklahoma
- USC
- Ole Miss
- Michigan
- Tennessee
- Penn State
- Florida
- Clemson
- BYU
- Auburn

That’s 11 SEC teams in the top 25, the most of any conference. The SEC teams not in the top 25 were Mizzou (No. 27), Vanderbilt (No. 30), Kentucky (No. 40), Arkansas (No. 48) and Mississippi State (No. 49).
How will this change next weekend? There are some big games on the Week 2 slate, including a matchup between the top 2 teams in this week’s FPI.
