Week 7 of the 2026 college football season has officially come and gone, and it was probably the wildest week of action the sport has seen in recent memory, with tons of unexpected upsets and crazy wins.
5 of the nation’s top 8 teams lost last Saturday, including top-ranked Georgia, who dropped their rivalry matchup against an unranked Auburn squad, a loss that snapped a 9-game win streak over the Tigers for Kirby Smart and company.
FOX Sports analyst Joel Klatt released his updated top-10 rankings list on Monday morning’s episode of his show after all the insane action from Week 7, and it featured a brand-new No. 1.
Klatt has the BYU Cougars at No. 1 in his updated rankings after their massive win over Notre Dame last weekend, followed by the Ohio State Buckeyes at No. 2, Miami Hurricanes at No. 3, Indiana Hoosiers at No. 4, and the Fighting Irish rounding out the top 5.
Klatt’s previous top-ranked team, the Georgia Bulldogs, dropped down to No. 6, followed by the Ole Miss Rebels at No. 7, Tennessee Volunteers at No. 8, UCLA Bruins at No. 9, and the Texas Tech Red Raiders capping things off at No. 10.
It’s safe to say that Week 7 was a massive jolt to the system, and there will be plenty of potential for further shake-ups in Week 8, with plenty of marquee matchups on deck around the country.
