Todd Golden releases statement on sexual harassment accusations
Todd Golden has released a statement regarding the filing of a Title IX complaint which accuses the men’s basketball coach of sexual harassment, sexual exploitation and stalking.
According to the student newspaper of the University of Florida, The Alligator, Golden is accused of aiming unwanted sexual behaviors towards UF students. This includes sending unwanted sexually explicit messages, stalking and requesting sexual favors.
In his statement Saturday, Golden insisted that he has engaged an attorney regarding potential defamation while respecting “the confidentiality of an ongoing school inquiry.”

Golden has been under investigation by Florida since before the start of the season, an investigation that had not been reported until The Alligator ran a story on Friday.
Florida basketball has started the season 2-0 under Golden, who was hired ahead of the 2022-23 season. Before landing at Florida, Golden coached San Francisco to the NCAA Tournament in 2022. At 39 years old Golden is one of the youngest coaches in college basketball and is known for placing an emphasis on advanced analytics.
The Gators are not in action on Saturday and will next play on Monday when Grambling State comes to town. Florida has not released any statement on his status for Monday, so expect Golden to be coaching against the Tigers.
Does explain why during games when he wanted guys to play tighter defense he would shout, “get on him like he’s a coed who thinks you’re a weird freak!”
??????????
What if it’s a blackmail scheme?
His statement is a PR strategy to imply that the accusations are made up, without actually saying it. And to extend his paychecks.
The problem is that the accusations suggest more than one accuser, and a bunch of digital evidence. Time will tell.
I agree Nash, this should be an open & shut case soon enough. The accusations include lots of stuff that should be easy to prove with phone/computer records. If proven true, his career and life won’t ever be the same again.
Collusion is a real thing. It also seems like with all the stated claims it would have been easy to prove his guilt at this point, right? I mean how many dic pics do you need? Something feels fishy with this claim to me. Either that or the entire UAA needs to be blown out and the lack of a president is preventing/slowing that. Either way something feels off here.
Yeah I was looking for his denial of the allegations but instead he went with the implication and the lawsuit
