Todd Grantham began his college coaching career in 1990 at Virginia Tech, and is on his third stop in the SEC as a defensive coordinator, now at Florida.

So when he delivered a compliment about C.J. Henderson being the best cornerback he’s ever coached at the college level, it carried some weight.

Grantham has coached some pretty good defensive backs at Georgia and Mississippi State.

In Starkville, the Bulldogs had six non-offensive touchdowns in 2017, including a league-leading four defensive scores. The Bulldogs returned an interception for a touchdown in three straight games, against Kentucky, Texas A&M and UMass, a first since 2007.

At Georgia in his second season there, the defense was fifth nationally in interceptions (20), and seventh in turnovers gained (32), which ranked first in the SEC.

Henderson this season has two interceptions, seven passes broken up, two quarterback hurries and two forced fumbles.
