Urban Meyer on USC rumors: 'I believe I'm done (coaching)'
The Ohio State Buckeyes are moving on to Ryan Day as head coach after Urban Meyer retired this past offseason.
Now, the three-time national champion is working with the Ohio State athletic department and will also work for FOX this coming college football season as an analyst.
There have been some rumors, though, of him potentially taking the USC job should it come open. On Friday, he seemed to distance himself from those rumblings. Per BuckeyeXtra.com, he said he thinks he’s done coaching:
Did Meyer have any interest in nipping that in the bud or in opening the crack to the door?
“I learned my lesson long ago,” he said. “All I’m going to say is I believe I’m done (coaching). I think I’m done.”
You’ll notice that he didn’t say anything definitive, but it does seem he’s happy in retirement right now.
We’ll see what the future holds for the ex-Florida and Ohio State coach.
Totally.
Like him or not, the game is much more entertaining when he’s coaching.
No I’m not.
So it’s agreed: Urb’s in L.A. by late December?
Side Note: Why does Urb have the worst time lying or putting diffinitive words together? Where is his publicist?!
You’re absolutely right about both
The purpose behind Coach Meyer’s particular choice of words was to etablish plausible deniability to the inevitable charge of being a weaselly liar when he takes the USC job.
That ship sailed 10 years ago…
This guy pooped on the entire SEC east when he slithered his way out of FL. I’m over him.
