Landing one blue-chip recruitment is a big weekend for any team. Georgia has now landed two blue-chip recruits in one evening.

About two hours after 5-star RB John Emery pledged to the Bulldogs, UGA received more big news. Four-star ATH Makiya Tongue also announced he was committing to the G.

Like Emery, Tongue is also out of Louisiana. In fact, he’s out of Baton Rouge and attends the University Lab school. Measuring 6-2, 210 pounds, Tongue can play outside linebacker and wide receiver, but is listed on 247Sports as an athlete (ATH). The site’s Composite rankings rate him the No. 13 Louisiana product, No. 15 ATH and No. 211 recruit overall.

Tongue, the son of former NFL safety Reggie Tongue, received 25 scholarship offers, including Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Missouri, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Texas A&M.

The commitment is No. 15 in UGA’s 2019 class. All but one of the current commits are rated 4- or 5-stars.

Tongue made his big announcement via Twitter, sharing a note and photos in the UGA uniform.
