Georgia DB Richard LeCounte ejected for targeting call on hit that sent Auburn WR's mouthguard flying
The first half of Georgia-Auburn has been all Bulldogs. About the only thing even is that both teams had a targeting ejection.
Late in the second quarter, standout UGA defensive back Richard LeCounte was ejected on a targeting call for his hit on Auburn wide receiver Shedrick Jackson.

As you might expect, not everyone agreed on the call:
I understand protecting players… but defenders have to be able to make plays. LeCounte made a clean hit there I thought

Yeah this is about as textbook of a targeting call there ever will be. https://t.co/qHZvwNRydB

My god, that’s a vicious hit from Lecounte. Textbook targeting.

That is a clean hit by LeCounte. Ridiculous if this stands. What else is he supposed to do?

Lol what this is 100% targeting https://t.co/4HKHULCtLX

This is textbook targeting. https://t.co/6WjvzNYjBO

They better not eject LeCounte. That would be BS

That wasn’t targeting in any book. I’m furious

At least with the ejection in the first half, LeCounte won’t have to miss any of next week’s game against Tennessee.
